Lisa-Marie Price
Lisa-Marie Price, a UK-based abstract painter born in 1986, explores the intricate relationship between nature, people, and place through her methodical painterly style. Using handmade watercolours crafted from foraged Earth minerals, she fosters a deep appreciation for the natural world by eschewing commercial paints.
Drawing inspiration from various landscapes, Price infuses her paintings with the energy of the environments she explores, inviting viewers to reflect on their bond with nature. Her commitment to sustainability and the use of natural pigments not only honours ancient artistic traditions but also advocates for authenticity in a world driven by consumerism. Through her work, Price amplifies the importance of connecting with the environment and cherishing the beauty found in our surroundings.
Represented by Columbia Road Gallery, East London, Price’s work has been shown in prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, MK Gallery, D Contemporary Gallery, Copeland Gallery, The Other Art Fair and The Shard.
“As an environmentally-focused abstract painter, I create art that addresses global challenges with a focus on climate change and sustainability. Using handmade watercolours from foraged Earth pigments, my work promotes eco-consciousness and emphasises the importance of cherishing Earth’s resources.
Each painting tells a unique story sourced from urban or rural landscapes, aiming to spark conversations on urgent topics like climate change and interconnectedness. Through extensive research, I challenge societal norms and advocate for positive change, inspiring viewers to reflect on their impact on the environment and future generations. My art serves as a call to action, encouraging collective efforts towards a sustainable future for our planet.“
