PLEASURES is a tantalising group exhibition presented by Shoreditch Modern in collaboration with Women of the Wick from 2nd – 17th May 2024.

The exhibition explores the theme of pleasure through a myriad of personal views and experiences in mediums such as paint, ceramic, photography, and textiles. The six selected contemporary female-identifying artists reclaim the narrative that has far too often been stifled by societal norms and overshadowed by male voices – in playful, raw, and poetic ways.

As two female-led businesses based in East London, both aiming to provide supportive platforms and opportunities to underrepresented creatives, the partnership between Shoreditch Modern and Women of the Wick came naturally.

With this exhibition, the two organisations hope to foster positive artistic dialogue around a topic that is still seen as taboo by many.
